As parents, we've heard of the importance to develop a bedtime routine and many of us have some routine set in place... usually along the lines of getting on PJs, eating a snack, brushing teeth, giving kisses, etc... But what about spending a few minutes before bedtime or naptime focused on some spiritual investment?

I would consider singing, prayer and bible reading to be pillars in what I do in my daily spiritual teaching. Anytime is a good time to do these things during my days with my kids, but the best time I find is those quiet moments before bed!

Every naptime and bedtime, we sing a couple songs, and we each pray before saying goodnight. Titus loves this time together, and it's produced some really special times together! Some of the sweetest moments we've had talking about spiritual things, or hearing his sweet prayers have come from this time before bed! It may seem routine, but we can never know the value that this will have on our children's lives. I believe these few moments everyday is providing a solid foundation of spiritual discipline and teaching and will reap benefits for the rest of their lives.

For those of you who don't have anything like this set up, consider including a few spiritual exercises into your routines.

For those of you who do, please share what you do, or any other insights you have on implementing some spiritual exercises into your daily routine with the kids!
